Listening. Communicating. Strengthening Relationships.
" We want every young person to achieve their potential and enjoy their time in education. Parents' support for their child's learning is an essential foundation for achievement. Parents told us they want to be more involved in their children's education, and schools see the benefits of greater involvement with parents."
The Children's Plan - Dept for Children, Schools and Families
We recognise that truly listening isn't actually that easy. Especially not in schools, where so many voices are determined to be heard, quite often at the same time.
We work with Primary and Secondary Schools on learning to listen and to give and receive feedback in a way that creates meaningful dialogue and opens up genuine communication between students, teachers and parents. Our approach ensures that all parties are empowered by this work.
We reveal where the choices are, and how individuals can make them in a way that benefits themselves and their community.
We are skilled at helping teachers, students and parents to find their voice and to communicate in a way that is about understanding, mutual respect and a collective desire to see young people succeed.
We offer a range of workshops from 'Presence in the Classroom' to 'Getting Teachers, Students and Parents Talking'.
In addition, by visiting your school and gaining insight into your cohort and community we can work with you to create a programme that best serves your needs.
Benefits for schools are:
- Improved communication between parents, students and teachers
- Calm, solution focused conversations
- Increased sense of individual and collective responsibility
- Peer support groups
- A range of transferrable listening and communication skills
- Review and follow-up coaching
- Training for staff, students and parents to continue this work independently of us
